A Journey
Many of these galleries represent something personal to me, and I would love to share these small stories to connect with you. If you feel so inclined to read the small blurbs I have left please feel free to do so and gather a better understanding of the stories behind the photos. If not you may find the photos further down in their respective galleries.
Biking Around
Going without a car in the Southeastern United States will give you some perspective. I think going without a car in many places will show you some things about people and places anywhere, but especially within the United States, since we apparently decided to not build the best infrastructures for growth. This often leaves people biking, walking, or sometimes running to work. Though in those moments where I would briskly gather myself to get where I was going, I took greater notice of my surroundings. There are always so many bikes. Here are a few of my favorites.
Coffee Elsewhere
We’re not always lucky enough to be able to explore another city, another country – let alone our own community from time to time. It can be difficult to make time for friends, family, dinner, plays, lunch, hobbies, movies or breakfast, when the way of the world and work can take so much of our time. That’s what makes it so important to soak up those little moments when we get these fleeting chances; the intentional quality time and recognition to take things slower when those chances arrive. Nothing about this trip was slow, but getting up in the morning and spending time with friends in a neighborhood coffee shop that doubles as a nightbar is always a good time. This gallery is a bit personal, showing off the attention to detail and beauty in the small environment of Bar Cocoro in Japan.
Angle of New York
I have always had a deep appreciation for architecture throughout the world. Just one of the many ways that cultures are expressed and intertwined into our day to day life. Sometimes we notice but often, it is with great intention, that we don’t recognize the detailed structures around us. A handcrafted story from foundation to finish, it never ceases to capture my attention whether or not it is trying to. The cities of the world never slouch in this regard and always have something to say to us as tourists and locals. This gallery features New York’s Pier 55 Little Islands, The Meatpacking District, and places around Greenwich Village.
